Generally speaking, when establishing scale in your scene for Unreal Engine 4, how
much scaling is too much for the Megascans assets? For the rocks in general? When
I import a rock asset (or any asset) the scale is set to 1. How much scaling is
too much? I’m worried I might lose detail if I scale too high.
ah i see. if its a cinematic focused on story telling I think its probably better to critique it as a whole, rather than one frame out of context. As for hiding the obvious CG plane at the top of the waterfall, rather than try anything fancy I'd probably try something simple first, like just break the line up by placing…
CHAPTER TWO: TEXTURES Right now the whole terrain is made by 3 main materials (+ 2 variations): rock, grass, dirt (+ rock closeup and wet dirt). I'm just going to grab some images of the real time results: I'm quite pleased with the blend of all of them. However I still think that som of them need improvements.
some scanned rocks Yesterday my brother was cleaning fish tank so he took out all the rocks , i decided to attempt photogrammetry and use them in scene , Maybe place plants inside and around them to blend with environment . This is just a rough version i will sculpt on top of it and then bake and also tweak albedo a little…
well I acutally followed a Procedural rock tutorial in 3ds max here http://saschahenrichs.blogspot.co.uk/2010/04/3dsmax-environment-modeling-2.html The texture I have used in a tileable rock texture which i appiled in 3ds max and then painted some extra details in mudbox. here is the texture and normal map.. normals texture
@Orb looks amazing, as always! I wonder how you made the stepping stones leading up to the throne. Did you make seperate parts and them ajmmed them together? I always wonder that, when I look at fanny's art as well, like these rocks: how can one make such aa clean line between the rocks ?
Before I start working on promo, I tried .qc file think but I am having problems with alien swarm so I decided to work on flying rocks. I rigged rocks to belts skeleton as well as staff skeleton but it is flying in wrong position can any of you guys tell what is wrong? Sorry for small gif
Wow... been a long time since i've posted anything in here. I was working on a blockout making a mod set of rocks for a scene I wanted to start.. and I just couldnt stop sculpting lmao... So here is the revival of my Art Dump! /w a rock. lol A large one mind you! Sculpted and and rendered in Zbrush.
give it some polygons man! That pillar looks like it was sliced by the ninja-matic9000, get some crumbling rock in there!! More rocks and rubble from the busted-ness of it too I think it'd be worthwhile as well to take some screenshots from a different angles, in addition to the angle the concept was drawn from. nice…
Yes... the concept is very complex, and I realize it's going to require some very creative poly placement to get something similar. A lot of this will be in the normal map I think :) Poo shaped rock... LOL... I was thinking we could put an Inukshuk on there instead, haha. That or a rock chin-strap for the "dumb" head.
