Hi everyone, I am working on a personal project. The idea was to make a skull with a butterfly in the eye socket. The wings would have eyes painted on them so it looks like the skull got eyes. The idea I think is pretty interesting but to visualize it is kind of a challenge. The butterfly needs to be small to fit in the…
Hello everyone. Tossing my hat into the ring. (heyooooo) What kinda Constable doesn't have a good and proper hat? Working on a couple different kinds. The classic dome shaped one is my focus but I'm also playing around with a more retro looking hat. My reference for the first are these two fine lads. Some ref for the…
If I recall correctly, ZBrush started out as purely 2.5D with the whole "pixols" tech which was basically color plus some height data. They added 3d meshes that you could stamp down into pixols on the canvas. But it was still an orthographic view mode. Then people were manipulating 3d models more, and not stamping them…
Hi! I love Destiny 2, so im looking forward to seeing how cool you can make this. As far as critique goes, do you have a purref or something where you can have your references all put together? I would suggest not only looking at a bunch of destiny references but also real life references to help your cave feel grounded…

XnView ought to be able to display most DDS files. It’s a container format though, so it could contain all kinds of compressed or uncompressed, high/low bit depths, and various numbers of channels. So it’s kind of hard to support all those.
To me the concept looks like matted-down dying greyish-brown grass. Kind of like tundra grass or like a Scottish grassland in the winter. With the wood building, it reminds me of Rohan form Lord of the Rings. Anyway, it's a pretty cool model. It could use a little more ageing and color variation if you are trying to match…
@Solid_Otter Thank you. :) And yes, I did receive a few comments about that, but the concept isn't going for historical accuracy and neither am I. Practical accuracy, on the other hand, is another pair of sleeves. A lot of the plates were that kind of solid plate with no hinges or straps in sight, had to do a bit of…
I decided to switch over and do the hut, the scene I originally picked is way to far over my head. I'm excited to go through the whole pipeline and hopefully have it look good. Here's what I have so far. Any feedback on my lowpoly would be appreciated. I kind of just winged it, I've never really studied how to actually do…
It seems like you might want IK on the wing fingers too, depending on what the fly cycle will look like. If it needs to feature a lot of flexing, IK might be easier on you there. But of course you loose a little control for it, so w/e. It looks like there could be some cool stuff up on the head too, such as for the ears…
