Skull problem

Hi everyone,
I am working on a personal project. The idea was to make a skull with a butterfly in the eye socket. The wings would have eyes painted on them so it looks like the skull got eyes. The idea I think is pretty interesting but to visualize it is kind of a challenge. The butterfly needs to be small to fit in the eye and I think it will lose the whole apeal of the image. So I was thinking to maybe skip the idea and go with a skull on a steak with feathers around it. Something like a tribe thing. I'm not sure what to do. Maybe you guys have a better idea?
