As I said: I duplicated an ear, moved it a little bit and backfaced it to make a 3D object, but Dynamesh then also makes flat areas. Or I misunderstood and I have to connect them in some other way than Dymanesh? -

Ok so I got accepted to the beta on this. I never finished the first one. I probably should. Some of you say it gets better later in the game so maybe I'll go back and finish it up. Thick modular meshes in games. Why?
I've noticed it a lot in recent games like Oblivion Remastered, God of War Ragnarok, etc. The modular meshes have thickness for some reason, even if they are tileable or unique. But some games like AC: Mirage have all their meshes thin. What's exactly the point of thickness here? Example from Ragnarok -

I often need to make straight a piece of photogrammetry or just a photo I want to project onto certain regular geometry . With "straightening" I mean something irregular and slightly deformed to become something having equal intervals and X/Y alignment typical for a texture.
