Colour corrections and a single realtime directonal light. I think this brings the scene closer to the lighting/colour mood board (above post). Alot of the textures are too dark/contrasty now. Or maybie i've just stared at them too long.
I went through the same dilemma a while back, but ultimately CE3 won over because of two things: 1) Being able to light and see results in realtime (along with some GI happening). 2) Not having to worry about lightmaps.

You can't look at a normal map as if its a diffuse map and deduct that there is an error. Your normal map looks perfectly fine. Try setting it up with a realtime shader or game engine, this is most likely an issue with vray or your vray settings.
triple post hehehe :) tidied up the armour....probably looks the same but hey... Also ran a quick test to see what it will look like once in realtime....the normals are rough and the spec is rushed but it gets the idea across ta for looking and all that
