I think Eric is right, iteration is key. Often you'll find there isn't one answer or one way to do something, but a framework that will help you iterate quickly so you can get to the best possible combination.
I think I found that other post, doesn't enlighten me much, just the fact I can use F5 thru F8 to cycle the directions...thanks Eric,as normal . Doesn't solve the prob though. John
Hey therr, a little update.. This isnt really a texture feedback thread anymore :P Hope people dont mind. If you can dont hesitate to help me out. @ Eric, thanks got things moving again ;)
Thanks, Eric. The first one looks like what I want it to look like. I'm going to try the second method, but paint the bark diagonally. I'm gonna have problems unwrapping because my tree is complicated.
well I messsed around with the skin stuff all night, still no joy, so after several reboots gave up. lo and behold this morning i turned the pc back on and its back to normal. cheers Eric
I'm with Eric. I had envisioned connecting capped ends (half spheres) sharing the same central pivot, then your outline is always clean. Maybe add a small horizontal capsule 'pelvis', that your hips can revolve in?
i had that mini tut for a while but i never managed to get the snap thing to work either. like eric said, snapping in max has it's quirks and the snap to face stuff has remained uncharted territory for me.
Photoshop saves the patterns on my HDD, but puts it in my local settings folder (WinXP). You might look there... C:\Documents and Settings\Eric Chadwick\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\9.0\Adobe Photoshop CS2 Settings
@Eric Chadwick I really missed that as i didnt had any plan for bare body.... I must add that in high and rebake before Madds Mikkelsen files a case against me... @Ashervisalis will surely look on to it..Thanks for the feedbacks man....
@Eric Chadwick , thanks for suggestion. I am a few post into the first page, and it's bookmarked. Wealth of resources right there. Too bad I didn't read that before I spent like three months making ornaments, haha. thanks @TheGabmeister
