... It's here on Polycount and called Monthly Challenge. There's one for Character, for Environment, for Firearms, and a weekly one for Hardsurface stuff. You should join in. I think all of them are having concept voting for October now, in Pimp n Preview 3D.
Greetings and Salutations! Welcome to the Polycount. Here you will find the tips and crits required to fine tune your 2d/3d art skills. We ran out of tea and biscuits but I hope you enjoy your stay here.
Hi Polycount: Deadline for the Riot Games Art Intern application is coming up on March 15th. On top of the Mushroom Guy I'm trying to get done by the 14th, I was wondering if Polycount could help me refine my resume and cover letter more. I know, artists don't usually get asked for cover letters, but for some reason Riot…
That's an interesting sounding game. Seems like animation will be pretty important to a game like that. After getting your character done, working on animation would probably be a good next step. As for art style (and general methodology) when you're just starting out, keeping things simple is often better. The more…
@jimklien THanks for always dropping by! I'll make sure I leave some sort of critique (Im not sure if I'm qualified for that :D ) @lotet you have no idea how much that means to me, thank you so much. If you need a fast reply, email is best. muzzoid@gmail.com @proceye I'm just reading this trying to work out what your misunderstanding is. It seems to me that you are attempting to use one light for the lit area and one light for the ambient area. Which…
EDIT---oops. in the time it took me to write this other people said what i wrote.... I few things i noticed= 1. Nothing is textured. This says to an employer; you cannot texture/never have. It also conveys you have not finished anything. This is one of, if not the biggest problem with your portfolio. Finish some stuff man.…
