yeah, a little update on my character... I tried to let the weapons look more believeable and used 3d coat for the first time ever and i must say it's a really good tool for handpainted textures but still have to get used to it.. My goal was is to get my character in a more dynamic pose to make it look more intresting, i…
One issue I've been running into while teaching; was getting students to understand principals based on technology that are no longer widely used. Case in Point: An F-Stop makes no sense to someone, who has no recollection of what a manual analog camera is. Without the knowledge of an F-Stop, they don't understand…
you should try to get some different values into the wood and the small house fI is with a different hue than the big wooden part aloso the proportions of the chimneys are not correct check the red rings and the upper part of the smaller chimney is far smaller and thinner. the small house is a bit too high and wide, the…
You need to change that color scheme. Just because green and red are complementary colors doesn't mean they will be beautiful together. Use this http://colorschemedesigner.com/ if you have trouble with color scheming :P Plus it's really hard to understand what the red and green are supposed to represent I really don't get…
So far I haven't had any issues using 3D coat, religion or not. It's nice for handpainting, quick unwrapping and retopo from my experience. Remember 3D coat also has sculpting functions, which can negate purchasing Zbrush. However Zbrush > 3D coat for sculpting. If your game uses PBR you may want to take Substance instead.…
Thanks alot. The problem with the base was that I didn't saved the nDo-Forms I used for the panel lines and hatches, so I had problems to create a color ID map (all panel lines, hatches etc were done completely in nDo). Also the big asset is a little bit terrifying for me right now (as I still have to learn how to use…

received overwhelmingly positive! Moon Studios is fully 'distributed', which means our talent comes from all over…
So I've been practicing handpainting textures to low poly weapons. Now that I've finished the texture and model to a point that I'd like to see it in Torchlight 2, I've gotten in massive problems. I use 3ds max to modelling. The problem is that when I try to export it to Blender for sizing, 3ds max says "Object x has…
So I'm putting together a very special environment I've been working hard on the past few weeks (yay!), however, at the texturing phase, I'm very frustrated with my results. I'm going for an artstyle that is handpainted but is still physically based. So there are no prebaked shadows in the diffuse and I'm avoiding blending…
Started this little guy today after a long year away from Polycount (mostly due to working on a game hardcore). Anyways, within the last year or two I've found myself drifting toward the more realistic side of 3D, which, don't get me wrong, is a wonderful and tedious area of 3D i love! But in that, I've found myself…
