I've actually not picked a renderer for this yet - I usually only do realtime things, so I've not got a renderer I use normally. I was hoping I could get some tips on a renderer to use for this, with this thread.
The thing is, your concern is ill founded. Halo is an example of bungie (a typecast realtime strategy developer) diversifying. Nobody really remembered them for Mac games until halo came out, it was myth that made them a modern success.
The only thing which worked for me (3ds Max 2018 on Win 10) was to turn down my Firewall and Realtime Maleware Scan (i hope its called like that, english is not my native language) then it suddelny worked.
Been working on those weapons quite a bit. Still early, still quite a bit stuff to do, but we've got em blocked out and playing around with the realtime shaders: Video: http://www.warsoup.com/files/weaponCapture_03.mp4
Astro - good one Daz - Actualy, yeah, you're right, so here's more info!... Polygonal modeling, for realtime. I'm gonna try more basic organic models before I try hi-res stuff.
Wrapit is pretty neat as you can use any modelling technique in max (including the step build and extend under freeform) and you can switch on and off a realtime surface snap/shrink wrap thingy. Quite nifty.
Yea thats what I was thinking shotgun. Apparently GI in every shot, glowies and paintovers = win. I thought it was a realtime character art comp. But yea congrats to those who did well in the comp, and thanks FredH
[ QUOTE ] doom 3 = best engine ever, nuff said. [/ QUOTE ] No you got it all wrong!!! TEH BEST ENGINE EVER IS: SAUERBRATEN, JAWOHL! Realtime, multiplayer mapediting FTW! And it is a damn nice oldschool FPS, too.
hello I am having difficulty finding information on how to use realtime shadows with my shaders. I found that they will cast shadows as long as I include a fallback shader, but they will still not receive them. this also seems to be sparsely documented... thoughts?
Looking for available, freelance environment modelers with experience in creating assets for realtime, VR/AR game res models. Looking to start today, if possible, or 1/24 start if that is next availability. Any interested parties, please send an email to resourcing.3d@buck.co. Thank you!
