I'd suggest looking at this guy's work, the precision plus indepth workflow modelling aircraft is insane. https://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?370606-SBD-Dauntless-(US-Navy-dive-bomber) http://airplanes3d.net/index_e.html
Great model. Love the Imperial Guard aircraft designs. I gathered up refs a while back and hacked a front/side together of the IG Maurauder fighter. Have to get around to it some day.
Thanks for the offer Garagebay9. I don't have either. I'm fine for references but if you have useful tips for aircraft modeling then please share here. I'm sure it'll benefit others as well as me.
I think I remember hearing that you need the older driver for some games because its more stable (in starcraft 2), I don't know why the driver number jumped so much.
Maybe 10 hours a week, used to play more. Wish i could say i'd grown as a person but mostly there just aren't any games worth playing right now. Waitin' on the next starcraft.
back before flight simulators, they used terrains like this and had a mechanical camera flying around simulating the aircraft. maybe its a leftover from those days?
it just seems so common these days that Im not surprised at all. starcraft space marines, warhammer space marines, reinhardt etc. I still think it looks so cool so I dont mind haha.
Would it be possible to build a displacement shader in unreal engine that will deform the mesh depending on the damage that is inflicted? like the example before. A bullet hits a aircraft wing from above and the shader will deform the wing. And cause a hole in the wing.
OH man i love love LOVE this idea! When i started playing starcraft 2 i wanted to do the exact same thing. Very inspirational work! I'm really excited to see these finished.
