Balrog
Hello everybody this is my first thread on here. I started modeling Balrog ,since i was inspired by sf4. I'm almost done but i think im having some proportion problems in the front and back view, I think the side view is fine. if you have any critics you can give me on proportions,detailing,or anything else i will highly… -
Very distorted light map on simple cylinder static mesh
Totally stumped on why this is happening on such a simple object. UV2 is laid out in Max, super simple layout, no overlaps. Reset xforms and I've even remade the cylinder and remapped it completely, still the same result. Totally messed up after a lightmap bake. Any ideas? Lighting only view Detail lighting view Lit -
my skin looks white ingame
hi, i made a skin for a model but when i try to view it ingame for the most part it is white, alot of the skin is made up of light colors which are the areas on the model that appear white ingame but the darker colors appear fine ingame. anyone know how i can fix this?thanks. btw when viewed in md2 viewer it looks fine. -

@hmshark Yup! If I manage to work out how we're going to do it, I'll post it tomorrow. @GhostDetector If possible, a minimum of two screenshots, one from the loadout view and one from the in-game view. If you want to do a promo, that would be really cool too, but it's not really needed. -

Thanks for the response and constructive advice, Brian "Panda" Choi . I used the gray front\side view reference in the background and left view in Zbrush, and the most problematic part, as you pointed out, is indeed balancing the proportions. I'll follow your guidance and hope to make it better, thanks again. -
Re: Baking normal map problems
I haven't attempted to view normals inside max since they broke support for all the viewport shaders (I think that was 2012). I would suggest loading up a game engine to view your normals. Marmoset, unreal, unity.. Ideally whatever the final engine the model is going to go into. -

ya if your wanting a easy way to move whole islands, there is the move UV tools which selected a whole island and switches to the move transform for you. also tip for both the uv view and the 3d view, holding ctrl+lmb gets you a menu for converting between component types. -

Here are some renders of Priss done with RenderMan: The HDR used for the renders is from the NoEmotion HDRs collection. I noticed there are some black artifacts around her knee and thigh strips in the front view and around her torso in the back view... anyone know what's causing it? The normal map? -

Update! I finished character model. Add belts, change folds and metal texure. Render in Zbrush. This full resolution preview. This high resolution front view. Other macro views. This study stage is done. This is big experience of sculpting and modelling for me. I accept all critique. Thanks!
