The character portrayed looks about 12 with the facial structure as it's very feminine, as well as that it seems a great deal of the anatomy seems to be leaning towards anime. You need to gather some facial reference of grown men and pay really close attention to the muscle structure as well as the bone's of the face.
Looking good; its coming along nicely. I realize it is still a work in progress, however i would like to suggest adding in quite a few small props to really help portray the scale of the building. For example, garbage cans, fountains, video cameras, vending machines etc..
Welcome to every video game/movie/comic ever - I lived in the area portrayed in Vice City and Fallout 3, they didn't get South Florida or DC/NoVA perfect. Just enjoy the macro and don't focus on the micro.
Thanks for the notes! :) yeah I always have struggled with my attempts at limited narrative getting too abstract. Or portraying the narrative with the wrong elements like here with too much text. Will get to working on a new pass soon!
So use just enough to portray form but don't use extremes? Im not sure how well 'extremes' play into shadows though, obviously the shadow shouldnt look like an addition to the object, but it should be a little darker yes?
Ah juggling, now that´s an idea. I´ll see if I can sucessfully portray that as that´d be more interesting and would make more sense! I love it, thanks! :) Also thanks for the other lovely comment guys! :)
What I got from Braid is we can be monsters without even realizing it, and what makes us good or evil is the light that we are portrayed in, kinda deep for an indy game. I really liked it as a game too.
We have a grid texture sample here at work that, when applied to a 128x128x128 cube in Max, portrays the correct texel density. All the artists then apply the texture to their assets and compare their asset to the cube. It seems to work pretty well.
Just saw the midnight showing. Fuckin' awesome. Great performances all around. Ledger's performance was amazing. Perfectly portrayed the Joker as I see him. Harvey Dent was great. A great counter-point to the Joker. I may, nay, DO have a new fave comic movie. :) PS: FUCKING LOOOONG!!! 2hrs 40mins... but sooo worth it. :)
