No - the viewer merely shows you the processed, object space normals. That doesn't mean that the artist used object space normals to create the asset itself.
It looks like some of the vertices aren't merged together. If you extruded some of that shape then the vertices usually aren't attached at that edge in my experience.
Thanks for this.. I was using an action that duplicated the BG layer, selected all layers, grouped them, duplicated the grouped layers and merged the duplicate group. >_>
Merging the "corrupted scene " inside a fresh scene also fix the issue, so Maybe there's someting stored inside the globals variables or somewhere else
