You better post to /r/gamedev for example. /r/askreddit is more about general thought- and discussion- provoking (even if it is dumb thought) questions.
Oh Gamedev you're right! I didn't think of it that way, but yeah that would be most useful too! (perhaps an option to take intersections into account or not?)

Graphic Design is pretty competitive and over saturated by artist from the slow death of print media, so don't count as that as a fall back career if gamedev doesn't work out.
