whoa I didn't expect this many positive responses The lighting setup is pretty simple. Just a 3 point method in unreal 3 (roboblitz) I actually had a better set up than this one... I think this lighting kind of sucks and almost took down the images. The shader is simple too... just diffuse and bump. I have lots to do on…
This happens with or without scale on the light. It even happens with just default lights turned on in the viewport. It does not happen with the DX11 shader. I can re-pro on multiple computers with different GPUs and driver versions.
Like others have said, the fog and lighting. There needs to be much more contrast I think in the lighting, and the fog is also washing a lot of stuff out as well. It also depends on the time of day your going for too I think, ex; will the scene be at night or in the middle of the day? Just general questions like this...…
I'm working with a small team of people to create a horror game in UE4- despite the vast number of horror survival games already on the market. We're trying hard to come up with a unique game, utilizing some interesting concepts that, at this stage, are just that-- concepts. Right now we're struggling with the basic…

I read that color and light theory is very important. Any other things to learn for environment artist ? Any architectural related…
@Adelphia Ok, I see what you and Meloncov are getting at now. Whether the apparent lack of reflectivity is the result of the flat, low environment (sky) lighting and little significant screen-space reflections, or the materials themselves, I can't say at this point. I'm settings up the environment in UE4 atm. If the…
Me and Lou are making a throne room for the light and dark fae monarchs who have a spiteful union for the good of their respective houses. Lou will be doing most of the modelling and I'll be doing most of the material stuff. Here's our mood board: Rough photo mash concept: ..and our block out so far in ue4:
Thanks SpeCter, although it isn't a Gamma/LUT problem - under Viewport Configurations>Lighting and Shadows, I had to change Illumination from 2 lights to 1 - laame, this problem kept me guessing at settings for like half an hour haha..
