Allright so i thought i would try this CCreator thing to make the body. and so i did. unfortunately i thought it had fur options and a morph i could use but fret not. i was able to make this basic body in secounds. and then i exported it to maya to start changing the basic base into a Rabbit Shell. I Started by removing…
Thanks .wiki and Bartalon for your help! I started over again and this time I did a tile with 12 different bricks. I baked a normal map in xNormal and it came out seamless :) I also baked a mortar plane with the bricks to fill out the gaps :) The problem I had with the mortar plane was: I exported a plane from…
I'll be making a video tutorial regarding that tomorrow or a day after. The tutorial will feature : Maya/3dcoat/Xnormal/Mubox/Meshlab/UDK/Cryengine. To summaries the tutorial : Some base rock models will be sculpted in mudbox (can also be done in 3dcoat) Then I'll export those basic rock models from mudbox to 3dcoat where…
yea you're right the start is kinda slow, but still very pretty :p I duno I think the nonexistent gameplay helps build the illusion that this is indeed a massive world and it feels like you can explore forever... it gives a "omg this place is huge" feeling. If it put you straight into combat-mode then you'll just be…
@Rooster: lol. yeah i was thinking "one hurdle at a time" the current one being cloth. But, yeah, i should develop some more confidence. Either that or i'm just used to being torn 'new ones' via crits, that i feel weird without any . @Sectaurs: thanks for the paint-over. So i did most of what u suggested. Redid the boots…
I'm gonna guess the parralax is a secondary layer 'behind' a translucent front layer. it simulates the rocks behind the thin layer of ice. Subsurface can be colored, just like specular maps can be. The alpha map is used in combination with the specular/normal/diffuse to simulate the 'front' layer I mentioned above. Does…
Elements is fine now (well since 2004). And the ONLY reason why I have CS4 is because I do print work as well. There is a demo of Elements I think. Make sure you can have multiple channels, layer masks, group layers, check the number of allowable layers and see if you can have multiple path layers.
Yep. You can assign object properties to layers and then set objects to take their properties from the layer so you don't have to micro manage all of the object properties, just dump them on the right layers. If you have a scene set up with lights and layers you can just dump your models in the scene and a lot of the work…
did you paint the orange on a layer above the other layers with a layer blending option eg overlay/screen on? if you did then it will react differently according to what background it is placed on. Maybe try painting without using any layers or blending options, I find its quite a good way to learn. *edit yeah sectaurs…
