I have next to no experience in enviromental modeling. But now I run into problem because I need to create an project that need to have a realistic view of the sky. I could not quite figure out how the enviromental ball and other textures works in Maya. Would anyone be so kind to give me some hint, tutorial or link to…
An oldie but a goodie for everyone who has ever done 3d. This is the Mk II fragmentation grenade. Modeling completed principally following the modeling tutorial by Tim Bergholz at Chamferzone, with some exceptions. Material creation influenced by that same tutorial. There is more that could be done and cleaned up/dinged up…
@wirrexx Just a heads up, I am using megascans for all foliage textures. The moss was created using this tutorial https://polycount.com/discussion/130038/ryse-moss-tutorial/p1 has a much more detail breakdown of the set up. But here's a breakdown of how I use it to layer up most rocks.

What version of 3ds Max are you using? It's changed quite a bit recently. If you are using 3ds Max 2011 or earlier search for Reactor tutorials on YouTube. If you are using 3ds Max 2012 and up then search for MassFX tutorials. Both systems can do what you want very easily.

I plan on editing them in the near future with much better explainations, this is mainly for the people…
So this Perna tutorial already somewhere else in forum or just didn't make it out public?.. I was reading all 3 pages with a thing in mind, that next page there'd be a tutorial but seem it's not the case (beside the finished wireframe mesh image by Computron)? Pro-boolean in action sounds really useful tho.
Try to provide more differentiation in the strands of fur. Don't be afraid to split fur as well, also if you are interested I would look into tutorials on sculpting fur in general, there are some really good traditional medium sculpting tutorials on sites like coolminiornot.com (miniature work is kind of similar in terms…
