Hey guys, this is my first challenge. I'm a 3d modeler from the VFX industry and I'm thinking about switching into games/interactive. I figure this would be a good place to start. Here's my start of 'Dude8'
I'm bringing a group of media students over in the second week of November to check out universities and visit museums/galleries/VFX houses etc so I could meet up for a beer or two one evening?
This completely stinks. The people there are super talented and I'm sure will go on to great things. As volatile as the games industry it's shocking to me how much more film/vfx is.
https://vimeo.com/253571133 Done for today and the timing is complete with placeholder VFX. Tomorrow I will texture everything to bring the "Jade Guardian" colors and feeling together~ Ian
Are you kidding? This film was not shot in 3d and neither was the VFX made in stereoscopic 3d... It actually came as a surprise to us, when we learned that the movie would be in 3d.
Fair bit of an update, worked on a few of the textures and assets, made a first pass on the smoke vfx, first time using Niagara so it's a relatively simple setup for now!
yeah its tricky, ironic too as I have never enjoyed my work more than now. still think i enjoy games work more than anything, my time in vfx was not fun at all
With Max/Maya it's the simple fact that they are deeply embedded in pretty much every industry pipeline in Games and VFX. They're what most artists that have been doing this a long time 'grew up with'.(and of course the sadly lamented XSI)
Being featured here among so many artists is such a honor, thank you! The quality that everyone guys keep posting is intimidating. I am happy that my newly made vfx got highlighted, I will keep posting!
