maybe make the exported obj have the uvs in the first channel? (just don't save the max scene or something).

yeah, however on a plus note, you can export out groups in .obj to xnormals. Works like a champ.

Well, I always export as Editable Poly, .OBJ set to quad geometry, I've never had a problem with that.

if it still does not work you can always export as OBJ and then work on that and import it back once you are done.

is good crack, ive had it fail to load a model a few times, which can be fixed by an export to obj

It doesn't like the high res obj. Where did you export it from? Is it very small (i.e it came straight from zbrush)?

I was able to get it to work properly exporting as .fbx instead of .obj out of Zbrush, thanks for the help.

FYI, you should also be able to do a blockout in the editor, then export that as OBJ as reference when modelling.

are you using the sendto feature..? try to export the rock as obj... its working fine here no problems...
