software recommendations please!

hey all,

been a long time since iv done any modeling, I'm trying to make some assets for DayZ.

I'v been using fusion 360 to do the modeling, which has turned out really nice, but i'm wondering if there is a free or cheap program that will let me do all the bakes for the low poly model?

also need something to help me convert files from stl to obj, i think?

i used to use 3ds max, but i don't have access to that and i never did get the hang of the bakes

Yes.

....also PC has a long running tech thread dedicated too xNormal, so might want to touch base there as well for a bit of hand holding

software to convert STL to OBJ?

I'm pretty sure F360 has a 'mesh' tab where you can convert and export .obj. Haven't used it in a few years though.

ill have a look,

i found an online one otherwise, now just to get the difficult dayz software to work

Blender converts stl.You might have to enable it in user pref/addons import-export.
