1.) rotate the view so that you can see the front better 2.) right click in that viewport and click "quickslice", you will see a dashed line where you can define your cut - make it at the 1st 1/4 of the model and rightlick to apply that should add a splitloop (easier though with polyboost, max2010 or some custom script)
yeah I would have to agree with you Ephesians, for the 1st week i was kinda depressed wondering what I could of done better but now I'm like eh whatever!, new people to meet, new projects to work on. Plus I'm enjoying time off to learn zbrush and some other tools I rarely got to use :)
Saw a preview for this today on Starz, figure I'll watch the 1st eps on Friday to see if it's any good. Can't help but complain about the blatant "borrowing" of 300's art style, though. The camera work, postFX coloration and slow mo are all a bit too similar for my tastes. Where's the creativity these days? Starz is no…

I started sculpting front of body. Here are screens with beginning of my character. What do you think? This is good start?
Hi all, I am creating a 2nd UV set and I would like to use a a few main pieces from the 1st UV set as a base. The problem: When I pin a selection in Maya and use the "Stitch Together" tool, the pinned UVs will move regardless of whether the Stitch Together tool is set to "A to B" or "B to A"
Hey there first time poster long time reader. This is my 1st scene for my student Demo Reel, its getting to a complete state so I thought I would share it with you guys and get some critiques and criticism. It's render in Unreal, modeled in Maya, and textured in Quixel and photoshop. Beauty Shots: *Updated with Higher Res…
I saw it last week. the 1st 10 mins or so feels a little cheesey like the stargate show, but 30 mins in I was sold and loving the movie. that dog thing is ridiculously cute in a ugly/pug sorta way, probably my fav thing about it. the CH was really well done and the designs of things were pretty interesting. overall really…
yea uniqley unwrapped objects will benefit from the texture boost for sure, what I should have said is, going in with the mentality of slapping a 2-4k texture on most things is going to make it look amazingly better is probably going to end up in the 1st cycle of launch titles having a huge optimization phase before…
