@hmm_rock Yeah, I tried using tesselation and displacement on the ground. But since it's the actual Unreal landscape geometry, it's too low poly even with higher tesselation factor, so the result was not that much better. I do have all the height maps, so I might try using a static mesh with displacement for the ground.… -

Thats a lot more precise now! The best way to go at it is to just post what you have so far. Just as important too : take this in Photoshop and try to paint it over to a result that looks close to what you want to do in 3D. You also have to ask yourself what restrictions you'll have to work with. Realtime? Pre-rendered?… -

The best thing I can think for this situation is not to model the ground. Keep it a flat plane, then, within engine, or set up in the material, have a vertex paint expression allowing you to paint into one of the channels an offset function. I dont doubt the chief, ships, and cliff to be in realtime. The most impressive part of the demo was the sky, which I would bet my left nut is just an amazingly textured skybox.
