Hello fellow devs, I am seeking intermediate to advanced character animators who are proficient in 3DS MAX (no exceptions). Being able to assemble your own rigs is a plus. Facial rig+ blendshapes (or your own GUI controls for facial animation) The project in question will be an up-close animation of a 3D person replica…
I'm far from doing a master since I still have 2 years of my BA to go, but I have actually been doing some research on this topic. There seems to be a distinct lack of affordable Game Art related courses, the UK has a few but none of the university websites have work samples, so that's not that great in my opinion. Taken…
The sword looks good. Are you using ref. for the mace though? Maybe I'm oblivious to the various types of maces out there, but wouldn't it make more sense for the spike part to actually have more weight then the handle? After all, that's what a pummel is for, is for adding additional weight in the back end helping balance…
I honestly got pretty bored towards the end of this. There's just not a whole to it. I mean the outside is just rocks pretty much. Inside same thing but with some green and buildings. There were quite a few things which I tried out but ended up causing more problems or just didn't turn up as expected so I omitted putting…
Hello! The end is nigh, but we still got some polish to do! I've modified the attack ending b/c it added more of the nimble/energy Tandel's supposed to have. It also feels a bit more impressive, even though it's simple geometry being scaled, xD. Unfortunately, I feel like it's not as playful as I had intended...but what's…
Lamont. I ended up playing with this for some prototype stuff to create a pretty stylized post process look. Kind of like the red/black Gears 2 trailer had. It ended up coming down to scripting, watching some of the tutorial that 3d buzz did a while back and just messing with things. So it basically created a whole new…
The new animation is really great at showing the characters personality and whimsy. The game and character instantly remind me of Jean-Pierre Jeunet movies. Which I love and draw inspiration from. The ending of the animation once he swallows the balloon is a bit out of place to me and hard to tell what is happening. I get…
yea definitely. I came to the conclusion that adding scratches and damage would end up being too time-consuming and especially restraining for 3D max. I'd end up running into shading errors and other conflict that would probably drive me insane. Just having that as texture would end up giving me the same result, and even…
LD took us to see it yesterday. I really enjoyed it despite the obvious plot holes. In fact, my only complaint was the decision to show the aliens unlike the original. I did appreciate the homage they played to the ending scene in the first one though. Wouldn't you think that a superior life form would find a much more…
if it looks shaded ok why not,- if you get problems however with overlapping tris. or the smoothing groups give it 2 or 3 centers (if you have 2 you would see a edge in the center with 2 vertex ends where all connect to, with 3 a triangle ect.). Some people bridge the edges (bit difficult in that particular case) but in…
