Yip yip, TexTools has this feature. http://www.renderhjs.net/textools/ And an example of it in use: [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEWqvrXaJE0[/ame] Don't quote me on this... but I think you need to switch to scanline to get good results, the last time I used it with MR it went a bit... funky. As I say, don't quote…
@Mr Smo Thanks man! Dropping some trees this week: Tree: D,N=2k; 4300tri I was learning Headus UVlayout while unwrapping this tree. It is really nice tool but I can still feel my brain aching :D It seems like the AO is too strong, I will try to reduce it. Any feedback would be appreciated.
@ Mr Significant Ohh. I did see that but I assumed that was from the perspective and not the shape of the building itself. However, that image you have is from my week one post, i added the curve to the roof in my week 2 post. DWalker Yeah they are a bit narrow now that i see them, I will thicken them a bit, Thanks
I don't think being shy is the issue. More like being an asshole. Being socially adept is HUGE imo. You don't have to be Mr. Popularity, but just don't be a Douche. I have SEEN the Better Artist Candidate A, passed over because he didn't fit in as well as the Almost as good but the immensely more Sociable Candidate B.
Is the Mental Ray plugin enabled? Settings/Preferences>Plug-in Manager>MayaToMR Make sure it's loaded and set to auto-load. That's the only thing I could imagine being the issue, since I bake AO all the time, and it prevents me if MR isn't loaded. I've never baked Final Gather though, but it should be the same issue.
EVERYONE PANIC WE COULD BE ATTACKED ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME Please save us Mr President... take away my freedoms, watch me everywhere I go, please control what I'm allowed to say and do, even in the privacy of my own home. Only then will I truly be safe from the invisible terrorists hiding everywhere.
Must have something to do with the creation of materials when coming back to Maya, and GoZ needs MR for some reason to do so. I have noticed that going to ZBrush still works but not being able to send back to Maya has been annoying. Thanks for the tip! Looks like I'll be installing Mental Delay for the time being.
If you bake from mr into a bitmap, you can then use Vertex Paint to convert the map into vertex colors. You still need unique UVs, but you can just do an auto-unwrap and toss it when you're done. Anyhow, Vig's right, you still need well-placed verts to pull off vert lighting.
I was able to get the it a lot better (BLUE) by modifying the cage... but I'm still getting some problem areas (RED). Xenoblend: I am rendering in MR. My samples are set at 32. I have a feeling that even if I go higher... that isn't going to fix the problem.... it is just going to make the perfect areas more perfect. :P
