Yeah that's tricky. Related to the SoM story he's a teenager. I'm trying to let him look like 15-16 or something. Had the same thoughts about the face and i will put some more time into it when i'm done with the overall look. You're right, the wrinkles let him look older.
On the note of grid if I am modeling in Maya I run my settings at 256, 16, 1. On the other hand you can also run off 512, 512, 32 just another way to get the same gird settings. Just depends on what you like both ways will snap.
Well I did happen to find the grid scale option and moved it down to 1 unit, but there are still 16 tiles or so on the grid with the lowest setting. I can work with this, but I was still wondering if there was any way to perfectly fit a sphere into a four quadrant, 1 unit by 1 unit section of the grid.
I think you could just use classicall cylinder with 16 sides and another one with 5 sides as that bump at the front and thats all, it rly dont need any extra geometry, ingame the difference will be rly minimal and u will get maybe 100triangle count and u can use 512 maps
iadagraca said: $75,000 might be a very expensive way for you to find out you don't enjoy being a technical artist. Technical artists have always been in demand (have been for at least the past 16 years) because most people don't enjoy the kind of work technical artists do.
how much ram do you have I have 16 and I can work with 30 mil+ polys. I can't belive blender could handle more polys maybe you messed something up in settings. You should also try tool:geo:modify topology:check mesh and fix mesh.
Bit of an update on the texturing part. I have got to finish these textures tomorrow, still quite a few parts are untouched, but hopefuly I'll sort this out in time. Please do like my submission on the artstation page if you enjoy this!…
It's really dependent of how unique object is. IF this will show up in scene once or twice you can even add 16 sub-materials. Won't have any big impact on performance anyway. Sometimes can be even faster than assembling entire object from modules. Really depends on use-case.
I've added the last update to the website, so a total of 16 different sections about the art of the game! http://www.artofluis.com/2016/02/art-of-the-witness-update-4/ I've also added some new content to the previous sections, due to finding some new images that I forgot we had.
The game is rather awkwardly balanced i thought. Plays kinda choppy too even at med~low settings. Really should do 16 player maps. the 32 player ones are too damn large. Anyway, hope a patch is headed down the pipe soon. And damn that artillary. damn it to hell ;-P
