Unfortunately, Viewport Canvas is really slow when painting on an object with tiled UVs. Just try painting on a basic Box() primitive... So until it works well with multiple tiling, you should pretty much always limit your painting space to a 1x1 tile. Hopefully it will be faster in 2013... Still... I do like using this… -

Adjusted the emissive and added a few more crates. I used a multiply and constant node to multiply the emissives by 0.2 - 0.3.
