I think you would benefit from baking a very rough highpoly version on top of that normal map you have to balance shading errors that are noticeable on the nose and throttle, doesn't need to be superdetailled, because with that kind of polycount, any shading error due to the lowpolyness can make your model render quite…
lol didnt realise this would be such a "weird" error. Its not like an actual error, its even mentioned in the help files. Thing is i get it all the time even with images like 400x400. Maybe im the only one who zoom in that much over my backgound pics or maybe i just have a weird system donno. Im runnin 1024mb ram on a 2.8…
Zbuffer accuracy decreases over distance. As long as you remove the eyeballs in the higher LoDs (paint them on the sockets as well if you don't want to have black spots or something) the Zbuffer errors should be minimal. Unless you have the eyes a milimetre under the skin it should take quite some distance for Zbuffer…
Trying to preview some work on my Samsung Galaxy Ace but the .APK file won't install. The installation loading bar comes up, followed shortly by an error saying "Application not installed". I've had a look around on the web but it mainly seems to be users getting this error, to which the reply is "the developer needs to…
Just switched over to Windows7 x64 for XP64 a few days ago and am having some problems in Maya2011 (hotfix3). After a few minutes of modeling in it I lose the ability to select edge loops via double clicking (arrows still work though), and the Connect Components command gives the error: // Error: setToolTo: Object…
Some 5 years ago, omg! This thing was a major pain, there was sooo much i didnt understand, like if you leave a hole in your highpoly, you'll get garbage results in your bake. And attempting to paint out "errors" which i later found to be gradiations to account for smoothing, and painting out errors from the…
Hey everyone, I'm preparing my models for an interview and was wondering what's the best way to render in Maya for characters? I like what my models look like with default lighting turned off, is there a way to do this for rendering? Also I've tried AO, but I get an error: // Error: [MentalRay Baking Setup]:…
Appreciate the answer. I have turned off min angle but it made no difference. I had considered running an edge upward, the question I guess is where would you run the edge? If I just run an edge upward (as much as possible) it does solve the corner but does leave me with another smoothing error to get around on the edge…
These props are looking good, I was curious about what caused the errors the normal map errors and how you fixed them? I like the idea of having the storage draws, makes it seem like a tangible object rather than just a generic wall. Like you said some added colour would be nice, but the colour pallet you've got going…
reprojecting details onto the new mesh doesnt seem to work since my computer crashes while projecting the higher sub div levels (i guess that was predictable). I also gave x normals a try. but when i try to produce a map, i get an error that says the mesh i put in the high poly input is void or non existent... could that…
