So I guess that me as well as a lot of my friends are questioning the fine lines of Using Autodesk student versions. For example, I made a few character and other models in school, which I would like to use for games I worked on or sell on Turbo-squib. I currently have the legal version of the program, but what's the fine…
I think I misunderstood your question. Hehe. I see what you mean now. I had assumed, being a rocket ship, that it wouldn't really be deforming at all. If you were to just get rid of the other unnecessary loops, I think you'd be fine. I don't really see much reason to get rid of more geometry, in a case like this. If you're…
Hi everybody, I'm new to the polycount forum and currently on the third module of my Master program where I get to choose skills to improve. So in order to prepare for this module I would like to ask you fine people what you think I should improve on my 3D models. The final project in this program is supposed to be a…
Ahh I think that would work fine with what I'm trying to do Thanks big time Edit: I take that back for some reason it screwed up my file and I didn't even save over it :P Now every time I try to open it all the bones are screwed up, IE some of them don't appear in the side viewport and only in the front, others are…
If you are incorporating zbrush into a workflow it must mean you are already using Maya, Max, Blender or something similar. If you have access to a contemporary boolean system in a 3d app you can use it in combination with zBrush to create amazing results. This thread shows how: 3ds Max/Zbrush: Proboolean + Dynamesh…
This looks pretty straightforward to me...the only glaring thing at this point are 1) the edges of the desk organizer in your photo are a LOT more rounded than in your model and 2) it seems to me like you're using a lot more polys in the pen and pencil than necessary. Otherwise, fine...keep going!
I've been pretty busy on this one. Here is a finished 2d track concept based on the real world location Rock Island, IL. This is basically the drawing I will use to model the track and place major landmarks. This is what it looks like in real life to drive around this location.…
I'm saving learning Python for next year :D So much to do. Layers will work fine though! I didn't realize that Maya had a layer system like 3ds (I only thought it had render layers... Which I keep on reading get broken frequently at render-time which scares me. Need to figure out what that's all about). So yeah, Python…
I agree with projecteagleye - you need to do a form follows function type deal with this - otherwise its panel lines for the sake of panel lines - while panel lines look cool - too many of them is noisy as well as not making sense - I guess you gotta think of it in a way that if you were to design something in real life…
The reason I asked this was like I said, out of curiosity; I don't have a specific project or animation in mind, just wanted to get an idea of what usually goes into making these kind of effects in film and tv. That link you posted gave me a general idea of what the cost would be though, thanks for that!
