Because this is not a software engineering forum, it is a game art forum. We are obviously going to be a lot more outspoken about stuff that damages our particular industry.
Thanks Kaburan :) I will try to damage a couple of brick here and there. Especially on the other side of the wall, as it appears a little bit flat after a second thought.
Your high poly looks good but I think you made wood pattern with an alpha right? Its looks a little bit blurry and low res. And your shield's front face has sword cut damages but your amblem looks too clear. Overall nice modelling.
hi guys, I guess i should post my entry for the eat3D challenge "old & damaged", thoughts I could get some comments, as apparently i'm not getting any on the site in question...
Looks really good. Only thing its missing is some good old ddd: dirt, dust and damage. But that would be a separate thing, like a decal pack or something.
Butthair, It's not just the texture. It's the whole geometry of bricks. Yes, it has 2 textures. One for a regular wall, one for broken geometry. It's not just alpha or a plane with masked damage.
Visually, this is looking really good. That creature might be the best I've seen in a video game to date. The damage fx (burned skin, bones showing through, etc) is great.
Everything looks pretty bright and clean. You could add some more dirt and grime to all of your textures, at the bottom and in the corners, with streaks of water damage etc.
