Hello friends, I'm a huge fan of Michael's brushes -- the lifetime membership is the best deal in 3D -- and immensely excited about this contest. The environment description immediately called to mind two of my greatest personal inspirations Lebbeus Woods (weirdo architect who never really built anything) and Viktor…
The whole palm to nosebone into brain = death thing is a myth. It can't happen. With three on one odds, you're best odds are running. I wouldn't even think of trying to pull a weapon if these guys were already on you. Even a gun. At close range, you may shoot one of them before you are tackled and the weapon is taken away…
I think you got it figured out already - a shader with several layers mixed or even just animated UVs would do the trick. I can only add that manually distorting UVs can imitate local turbulence / water flowing around rocks.
I tried spending a lot of time on that last set of legs, though I got impatient on the lower half. They're still just not quite right. I'm just bashing my head against a brick wall. There's a gap between understanding what I'm looking at and replicating it correctly that I can't quite bridge. Got to get just a bit better.…
agree... I think Brink would have had a huge audience and legacy if it was released with a single player story that was as inventive as it's awesome tableau. As it stands. Brink remains one of my favorite gaming experiences. ( for an aging gamer that does horribly in multiplayer fps, the bots in Brink that gamers…
Hey guys, first post here as the discords I am in are mainly weapon related, and as ive found these things are very very different issues. I am in the process of making a bunch of buildings. To preface this, I know modular components are very versatile and many of the more basic buildings in the project are comprised of…
I never had a problem with the course design, you just have to learn them and use it to your advantage. As far as tricks go you just have to learn how to string together large combos. Using the land tricks(nose or tail press) you can keep a large combo going and once your multiplier is up there you will be getting some…
Just posting some work that I finally completed earlier this year. It sat for many years as a blockout on my hard drive. Due to some down time, I was able to start working on it at the end of last year. Inspired by one of Tor Frick's pieces, as well as work on some of the Alien films I wanted to tackle some science fiction…
It kind of depends on if you want to move the pieces around after you import. If you don't see a need to have a bazillion little pieces, might as well stick them all together. The point of modular design is to have a library of pieces that can be mixed and matched easily to make something look new and unique, but really is…
This accidentally answers the question above and is also my critique for the night scene: The colors are too saturated. - The blue light is far more gray and greener/less red in the refs - The yellow light can also be less saturated and red I'd adjust them and experiment with adding a couple of faint, desaturated green…
