Wow some really good feedback! Thank you everybody who took the time to look at my site, it's really appreciated. Concerning the site I'm going to be making the following updates: - Ditching the horizontal scroll for a more traditional vertical scroll. - Lighten up the text - Get rid of my graphic/web design title. I was…
The menu bar looks very narrow - I'd expect the line to be at least as wide as the images below. There's also a lot of empty space between the text and the line. I'm not sure I agree with centering the name rather than left or even right-justifying it, but that's probably just a matter of personal taste. I'd have to agree…
!!UPDATE!! I'd like to explain my current workflow and what I'm trying to achieve, since I keep receiving links to tutorials that clash with my goals. Workflow: .- block out of the tree in Blender, where I use the skin modifier to make multiple "hoses" as a base structure for the next step (very similar to the splines…
I like to use the Working Pivot functionality frequently, especially when working in Vertex sub-object mode. Because of this, I wrote a macro script that will set the Working Pivot to the center of the current vertex selection, and assigned a hotkey to it. I select whatever vertex I want to use as the pivot point and press…
Hi! I think Subd modeling is an important skill to have. It's relevancy for a task depends on the specifics, one consideration being iteration speed/flexibility. For an organic subject, sculpting might be a more fitting way to control the vertices (however Subd modeling might be used for creating the base). Aside from the…

Hello friends! Recently I've been wanting to start a new side-project but haven't had a ton of time and I really only wanted to concentrate on working with certain aspects - materials and lighting. The solution to my problem was to collaborate with a friend. Enter Rob Nally. With Rob in the mix, we could both focus on…
Anyone played this game? I think it's the right move in the 3d Castlevania series. A step forward in the right direction (overall) from Lament of Innocence, but the game is still lacking. The map layout is great. The map art isn't. But visuals aside, this game feels more like Symphony of the Night (which is the main goal…
Hi. I've been working with the UDK lately found a thread that told me how to change my grid in Maya to match the UDK grid. This went great and now its a lot easier to throw together modular environments in Maya. My problem is that I had to increase my max and min clip distance in each of the view ports to compensate for…
those are nicer to use with the pen than the mouse imo. honestly though - your shortcut selection should be based on the work you do. eg. if you connect vertices a lot, learn where the default shortcut is and if you don't like it, change it.
