Yes! This movie is awesome! I saw it when it came out in Vancouver, I want to check it out again though, there's definitely stuff I missed the first time through. I love Gilliam, that guy makes pure cinematic magic. :D
For the rust I used a rust photo and using the magic wand tool on a high tolerance removed a large amount to keep only the saturated parts. then covered the uvs in photoshop with the image, took it into mari and removed the parts where i didn't want rust.
There's no magic button that optimizes the mesh for you. If you just have a model that has a very high poly count for a video game but not enough to qualify as a high poly sculpt, the best you can do is to weld together verts and delete unnecessary edges.
Update 1.12 is now available! It adds new secondary legendary stats like Lifesteal, Magic Find, Gold Find, Critical Hit chance, Devastating Hit chance, Experience gained, Fame Gained and focusses on adding new "Unique" Legendary items.
I'm glad this prop got picked for the challenge, but while I was doing a quick block out the wheel crack or whatever confused me a bit. How is it attached exactly is it free floating magically? Any advice or insight would be great thank you.
What an awesome tool, it fixed pretty much all issues i had with UDK / max / marmoset. It also makes manual optimization possible without re-baking, simply switch the optimized model and generate a new map with handplane, it's like magic!
you watch any of the tv/movies of discworld? hogfather or color of magic, one of the few things in those movies i liked was the look of the turtle and elephants. yours is lookin good, but rember to keep the back flat enough that the elephants can stand comfortably!
Question. There is a 120 character limit on signatures (including BB code). Also, [size] tags are said to not be allowed. Can this be changed? Your signature magically violates both these rules, Adam. Danke! *also, would be nice to have the option of disabling smilies in the signature.
Which software do you use cryrid? To speak to the printer I mean? Magics RP or similar? I've been asked for a continuous mesh for an Objet printer, and it's a major pain in the arse. You can, but expect to be doing a whole lot of tedious cleanup.
It seems if you press the Tools / Texture / Uvs button, it performs ancient magic and allows you to reconstruct, after merging with SubTool Master. I tried it on basic objects and it worked. Glad I looked it up now that will help me alot in the future.
