ill point you towards the example I put in this thread. . Same basic problem. https://polycount.com/discussion/235311/how-can-i-achieve-this-faded-concrete-paint-effect-with-vertex-blending#latest
Well them back to the OP scene i really like it but i think the concrete between the road and side walk (the gutter concrete maybe) is too wide... other then that really good looking scene.
Overall its very well done, but it looks a little bland to me. I would add some more color to the concrete areas. Even if you leave it concrete, add some contrast to it or something.
Not to shabby, I like that you're thinkin' modular! About the planned texture swaps, concrete floor for wood with concrete walls. that seems a little odd to me. Normally you would have a concrete base and maybe wood walls. Keep chuggin along! A lot of people started out with weird 3D apps and managed to make the transition…
Hey, this may be a bit late but thought I'd suggest. Originally you said you wanted those pillars to be stone, but I'm not sure where the I beam comes into play then, as stone pillars would just be solid stone. Now it might be concrete pillars, if that is the case I suggest finding more reference photos of rubble and…
I have started blocking out the hard surface prop but I'm having a tough time interpreting the materials. Does this interpretation seem correct? The darker parts of the pedestal could also be black marble instead of concrete but pedestals usually have a strong concrete base to protect metals and wood from moisture.
Looks much better with that concrete. BUT, broken concrete are almost always lighter. Search for some ref on that. I thought that someone seeking shelter would have made that fire - under the bridge? Keep it up! :D
Does anyone know if MTB 2.0 supports blended materials i.e. Cracked concrete overlaying un-cracked concrete. This would be blended using vertex coloring to determine which is visible on what parts of the model?
I'll take a look at the concrete texture. My day job is forming and finishing concrete commercial buildings so maybe that has something to do with it. It goes forward. The black things are guns. The thruster is partially hidden.
I'll try to add more decals to the concrete, maybe some different concrete textures or security posters (to follow the industrial theme) instead of more stains, I don't want everything in the scene to be covered in dirt.
