does the mermaid have a penguin in a headlock? and why is she pinching herself. i'd ditch the line down her tail as well, makes her look like mermaid barbie with legs in a sack. i actually really like the image, though. charming little divers - especially the right-most
Neo_God: Heh, that's cool... although I'd have to say that the flesh shadows (especially at the top of the image) are looking too desaturated and grey, IMHO it'd really improve it if you kept the same values, but saturated them more and pushed the hue towards red. Same with the bottom of her right leg.
Mop, I absolutely love that painting you've done here. Even after only 40 minutes of work I think it's simply great. Can you host the full image? I'd really like to put it as my background (1920x1200 native resolution, so it'd fit perfect :] )
This was my first project I did after finishing an illustrator course. I failed my last interview cos my skills were rubbish and was determined that it wouldnt be the cause of another failed interview. [ QUOTE ] MoP: is that the concept that Ocelot did a while back? It was called Shrig-Ag or somesuch. Only reason I ask is that I found that image laying in my polycount cottage or on my drive just recently. [/ QUOTE ] A) the shrig ag is mine B) this is more of a protos-esque thing, i think.
Warby: I know; I never mentioned your name. :P To avoid confusion; you should have used the quote tag in your post. Even then, I dunno why people would "quote" images; referring to people by name works just as well and doesn't create unnecessary clutter.
that's got some really nice design deibling! I think your colours are a bit strong and clashing, like a lot of the image is competing for your attention. Itd be nice to figure our your focal points and adjust the colours and contrast to draw the viewer's attention. hah, he mentions harsh colour, then posts this:
jesus christ so much awesome stuff here that i feel small... anyway , this is the sculpt of a face of a character im working on my sparce free time , i tried to not make him simetrical, i decided to curve the lips a bit and play around with the bone structure...meh... EDIT : ALTERED IMAGE
