Hi, I'm getting this weird pattern artifact on the cylinder here, all the other pieces are fine. I've tried redoing the UVs, upscaling the texture resolution, I've re-checked the HP and LP and they look fine. Any ideas what's happening?https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10a8zcuozRHiK_E82KO6FSh3eOQdw9ttf?usp=sharing -…

You low poly model have same shading gradients. I would try to get rid of them first because whatever perfect it may look in Substance it still might be there in actual game engine due to normal map compression , screen space something etc . At least I saw them in Unreal4 , haven't tried v5 much. Having low res model…
You can use whatever in Substance Painter , you just wouldn't be able to tweak procedurals in Painter directly until they are properly exported from Substance designer . Painter is still able to use rasterized bitmap images you would export from Blender. Saying all this you should understand that you can use Blender…
I would avoid Modo for modeling if your goal is low res game art. Its nice if you want to pump out some pixar like toons but modeling wise, I just dont see it. Its control scheme for working in the viewport is also god awful. That said, I have tried to use blender off and on throughout the years and only recently was I…
Hello. I took some 3D modelling courses after high school about 12 years ago and recently got back into modelling. I'm using Blender now which is not what I originally learned on and still learning the software. Anyway here are some swords I'm working on.
Hello! I'm starting a new piece for my portfolio, an Au Ra (part human, part reptile/dragon) from FFXIV. My primary goals are to learn to make game-ready eyes with illusion of depth using a height map, and to get more practice laying down hair cards and capturing likeness. I'm currently still working on the sculpt before I…
Here's the full uncut tale from today......... I made some fine line textures to showcase where i need to up the poly res in maya. Used it as a guide, fixed things up in maya by moving UV shell points, and added res. It didn't look perfect, but it was a little better. (Lesson learned, next time I make hair UVs, I'll use…
