Hey Everyone. I am a long time thread stalker :) . I couldn't resist Riot Games' Art contest so this is both my first thread and first art contest here. I have never played LoL, but I have always admired the style. I have chosen Sejuani as my champion and decided to give her a demonic valkyrie theme. It is a lot of work,…
I figure this is far enough along to warrant it's own thread. I've stopped playing WoW again and what better way to shake it off than to make my character next-gen. Yay! This was actually going to be my blizzard competition entry from 2006. It's based on my WoW character as it was sometime last year (I think?) wearing the…
There're already some good points by the guys above, im just basically repeating some of them: - damaged sword design suggest that the character has already been in a bunch of battles/fights, but the armor parts are mostly clean/ smooth/new suggesting otherwise, which doesnt make a lot of sense putting them together. -…
A few things: - How is the armor attached to the person? It has weight and that should show through in the design and on the final model. As it is, it looks like you took a base mesh made some extrusions and called it good. Are the straps old fashion buckle and loops, is it DD rings, are they some kind of space age…
:-) Glad they helped. I really love the armor design you did. Though I imagine in game you would need to rig up the corset piece to flex, but you have textured it as metal (which does not normally bend. :-P) Might have been cool to make it segmented like motorcycle back armor. My current favorite ani shader is the one Kurt…
Update! I do not have much time for this project, and i update this as I can. I have funny render week for my animation commercial stuff. And if I have free time, I trying to spend it for this project. Anyway, now I working on armor. Made gauntlets, boots, pauldrons and other parts. Made better proportions. I don't really…
Thanks for your comment, the reason he is standing straighter in my model is that this guy will be getting a full animation rig in the end. So to have maximum mobility in the rig I'm modelling him more vertical, if you look at his upper body and his armor, when the shoulder armor is tilted from the chest up to make the…
the old design does not fit very well with our actual vision of tech/future, it was childish and it was a robot like coming from the teenage turtles... very simplistic/cartonish and good for its days, but not now. I hope to see a new design for robocop, because i always hated its armor design. A man with a plastic armor...…
I like the subject matter - I think the main issues with this are its values and lighting. The shadow cast by various bits of the image don't match to any one light source, and the shadows on all materials - be it grass, metal, or cloth, all get crushed pretty hardcore into obscurity. I think bits of the armor are nice,…
As a pretty big fan of 40K and a fan of them crazy helmets and such on the Eldar, I'm going to go with modeling one of them bad boys. I had to pull out of the warm up challenge with DW due to school, but if I keep on top of things this quarter I'm looking to get a lot of learnin' done building characters. Things I'm…
