Re: Zbrush poly painting sub tools workflow
Those tutorials are old. Programs like xnormal gained the ability to import and bake polypaint data on their own, so your highpoly sculpt doesn't even need UVs. It's a lot less to worry about and should free your workflow up quite a bit. -

It's stone - I saw a lot of similar sculpting in my time in Asia. One building near Khoo Kongsi had pillars that had three layers of murals carved into them, each layer around four-six inches deeper than the other. Madness! -

I always think of detailed sculpting as adding scratches and things like that. Is that not how most people view it? The only part I could see as being somewhat detailed already is the mask, but for that I just threw down some clay tubes, smoothed it a bit, and used the crumple brush all over the place. Totally possible. Difficult as all hell to be passible at it all, and nearly as hard to keep all those skills sharp, but doable. If your main goal is videos, concentrate on that, and above all, keep it simple, and use free resources to patch in places you don't have time or skill to do. Trying to do too much, or hit to…
