Unfold uv's is in Maya7, weeeeeeeeeeeee. I used it last night to map a high poly head and it was extremely fast, but sorry there is no real time feedback, but then again it only took me 2 clicks to get the head unfolded.
If you have very good stuff then it shouldnt be a problem. The leveling slow/fast seems to be very personal matter for example my char is lvl 16 and my last save shows over 25 hours played.
i used to play this map a lot not knowing that so many people like it, it has something special to it. Probably the fact that there's no hiding in this map and its size make it so dynamic, fast paced and fun :D
Hi Synaesthesia, Thank you for the fast answer. unfortunately the scaling is not the problem. The difference between the last two pics show how much worse the the Albedo gets, when I import it via the material manager.
Hi guys, two questions on optimization. First question: We have one texture for a bunch of objects that share uv map, we need to use two different shaders, one diffuse and one transparent. Ex. A car with a diffuse chassis and transparent windows. This will result in the windows having a large texture, but only occupying a…
Hey guys. Here's a little tidbit I've been working on, would love comments good or bad. I wont go into a huge description of the game here, that can be seen here: http://www.lastcallsharks.blogspot.com Heres a few screens of the environments as they stand, they definately still need a lot of work. The pool table is still a…
I wanted to share a project I worked on for My intro to Maya Final I completed for my class at Gnomon I would also like some opinion and crits. I always want to improve. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/yvY59 Concept By - Khairizal Anwar https://www.artstation.com/artwork/LGQaA
the shadow node requires world space position and normals to work. to get world space position you need to convert height into tangent space normals (easy) and transform those normals from tangent space to world space. This requires that you bugger around with 3d matrix transforms - you can build nodes to do this in…
It can go that way. But you should learn to avoid getting stuck like this. Often, it's better to just finish something than obsessing over every last tiny detail. Being in a production environment with time pressure helps, of course :)
