nah, its just a flattened render mapped to the objects UVs. the procedurals are often fully 3D. the value of the pixel is determined in either world or object space when rendering. this cant be done in the views. I think AD said it would be too many instructions for a SM 3.0 shader.
Long time no update, but it's taken me a while to texture this car and learn that process, as well as making it into a low poly model. Comes to 12k polys at the moment, plus an extra 1000 for each of the tyres (300 unsmoothed). Still got some bits and bobs to finish up, but almost done:
I've just finished another batch of 310 textures. download link: https://mega.co.nz/#!pxN3jYCT!dUvB_Tq-QEEMM__GMZ1yK2gR3Vo27h8LQlX_02w_FAo (1.35 GB) I'll try to add some alternative download links later on. Here's a few samples. Go to this album for higher res (still resized to fit imgur)
They (Cave/MossJP) do small runs and the cost of the games skyrockets at times. Makes it a pain finding them in stores. I would like to see what they do next, only reason why my 360 hasn`t been retired yet. But $120~$140 for a game... geeze..
uh. . . what's so hard about this? make one barrel, offset the pivot, duplicate and rotate at appropriate degrees (60 for 6 barrels, 72 for 5 barrels, 90 for 4 barrels and 120 for 3 barrels) weld all barrels together. . . Am I missing something here?
Only found http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220466&cm_re=4gb_ram-_-20-220-466-_-Product Lol price Well, if DDR2 2x4gb is hard to come by I imagine DDR3 doesn't really exist? Somone spare the pain of looking like a noob : )
I'll second the MSI 970, been running one for a couple months now and its great. The 3.5gb issue would have been nice to know before i bought it, but i'd still have probably gone ahead instead of dropping another $300 for the 980
Oh, feck it. I give up... There'll only be one Akira (manga) and one Watchmen (comic) and one 300 (comic) and one Sin City (comic) and one Swamp Thing (comic) and one V for Vendetta (comic) for me. I'll be in the pub with Alan Moore.
From Shacknews: "Don't expect your modding progress to be quick and painless, though. "Doing significant work will require patience, because internally we use a 300 core renderfarm for megatexture creation," id's John Carmack said on Twitter." Hah. I guess, that's why.
I don't notice lag on my cintiq. Maybe I'm just used to it. But it seems very snappy. I'm really interested in the Asus MeMo (Android 3.0 with a pressure sensitive stylus). http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/37788/asus-eee-memo-hands-on-review
