Great character so far! It feels very weird that the piece of hanging cloth goes underneath the thigh armor pads. I'm also not super fan of the 3 armor pads on the same cloth underneath the belt in the back of the character. But that's the design I guess. Otherwise the execution is really great so far!
Hey man, good effort. What I'd recommend working on from here is your anatomy, I think you could have worked on your forms more. Also, I'd add a little more volume to the clothing, right now they look like mesh, not real clothing. Good luck!
Heeey! I like it, very well done. Only thing thats bugging me is the cloth, its a little too "real" and not quite "borderlands", almost like its lacking an outline or shading or something? Take a look how the cloth is here, its much more simple but works much better:
Bruce Lee character, quickly based out and 30 minutes of sculpting, using this to really push my anatomy sculpting (and cloth later when I add his baggy kung fu pants) Biker character work in progress, using this to really push my cloth fold sculpting abilities.
the character itself is looking good, it would help get some more crits if you could show him without being covered in clothes, the clothes are obviously a long way off for now and to have a scarf on a brawler seems pretty funny to me. Can't say much till there is more really.
@EricElwell Thanks! I didn't even mean for it to end up so crisp/clean, would have liked more painterly soft edges :P Good point with the cloth, that would convey some nice flapping motion. Here's another that doesn't end up using dynamic cloth at all!
I did him 1.5 years ago when i had start learning cloth sculpting.started his cloths and bags in marvelous designer then i moved to zbrush for manual tweak. Recently i worked on the head and rendered it.hope you will like it.sorry for posting it late. follow me on: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Z5NyVw?commentId=3632041
So just as the title says does anyone have any insight on how to get pockets to work properly when animating a character using them? This is obviously done during the rigging process but my problem here is that I have one piece of clothing that needs to be simulated using cloth but still has pockets.
Just think change the subject of my model might refresh my brain a little. I just made this model today. I feel something is off... but I can't quite figure out where. And one question for Daz. When make those models, do you model your cloth using cloth of Maya or you model them as seperate polygon object?
Lankus Maximus, Thank you for feedback, moving onto clothes now that I've done some work on the face, I will definitely be revamping the clothes and hopefully adding some good details. Here is a shot of the revision I have done on the face thus far. Cheers. -Anwar
