That's a fantastic write up thank you so much for sharing, and yes your correct it wouldn't add another draw call. I was wrong about that. I don't know why my brain doesn't operate on all 8 cylinders all the time. That's why I just love posting on PC always keep myself in check :)
[ QUOTE ] ...it should be about exploring and broadening your horizons... [/ QUOTE ] hah! someone should tell the proffessor i have for figure drawing and painting this... 'it's wrong. do it right.' and since im a grad student i should be godlike in my abilities right now... even though i did NO art for 2 years prior to…
I use to use poser a fair bit actually.... never for finished products or anything, but i used it for reference when i was drawing. Never was very good at getting the pose down right, so i would use poser, make the pose i wanted and couldnt find elsewhere. Now that i have max, havent had a need for it.
That's what I was going to add. You could use a different window manager. Actually, the XGL appears to be a program rather than a window manager since it's running gnome. EIther way, you can disable it easily I'm sure. My point is there ARE people that like the twirly windows and transparencies, and this desktop would help…
This tutorial is good, learned most of the stuff from this website. http://www.philipk.net/tutorials/materials/woodrough/woodrough.html First I would sculpt basic stuff like damage using trim dynamic brush/mallet fast then I would use projection master to draw wood grain and alpha texture for making that round shape on the…
so which one are you, i go on the same train and probably by deduction work at the same studio... your probably one of those fusion boys...... booo hisss =) anyway not to derail the thread. 1-looking out of the window at the amazing world out there 2-talking to people 3-reading books 4-drawing 5-sleeping 6-DS
Have you looked at Drawception? It was brought up in the other thread that it bears some similarities to the surrealist game "The Exquisite Corpse" - the one where you get a folded piece of paper and different people draw different sections of a character without being able to see what the previous person drew.…
See, this is why I LOVE GuildWars' loading screens. The top-notch concept art that appears in many of the different regions' loading screens continues to amaze me - not that the game isn't pretty in it's own right, but it just doesn't compare to the drawings the guys at ArenaNET did. And besides, it's an MMO. It's not…
I knew it ran better with 1 viewport rather than 4 (I think it has to do with the fact that wireframes are calculated on the CPU - the new DX10 enabled version is supposed to be drawing wire frames on the card to significantly speed up viewports), but I had no idea that having the modifier stack open makes it run slower.…
Leasing is the way to go for poor freelancers! I did it with my Cintiq. The specs are my dream specs though (except the chubby pen - looks like a veterinary syringe). This would work great for life drawing or outdoor painting/ sculpting. Fingers crossed, Yaynova or Monoprice or some other price busting brand can offer…
