Looking good Schekee. Gir, I like the look of him, he'll be a good contrast in your portfolio next to all the humans. I think I need a monster too. For me, here is where I'm at. Learning decent hair for maya vray, and more about the shaders:
With all of the sci fi stuff in my portfolio I think it's a good time to start up some real world models. This guy is going to be a production model that I composite into live footage, so I'm going to be learning mari, nuke, vray and some tracking program on this one.
Taking a break from the fiesta, need to get some banker peices in to my portfolio- 2750 tris for character and armour and 1024x1024 texture so far, diffuse only. Still a fair bit to do but this is after about a day or 2's worth of modelling/uv mapping and a day for texturing
Here is my new environment portfolio piece, at first i start this for the Monthly noob challenge 11 but i have to stop after 1 week cause of work ,I was working again on this two weeks ago. It's my first try at hand painted environment, only diffuse and specular map.
Now that the game has shipped, I'm finishing up some lingering portfolio stuff to revamp my ooooold site: I also launched a tumblr recently here: http://mutatedjellyfish.tumblr.com . I use it to post anything I'm working on: freelance, design, illustration, and 3D, so TUMBLE ME SOFTLY
Hello Everyone, I'm back to working on personal folio pieces again. I got clearance to work on creatures created by Dave Melvin (http://scorge.cghub.com/) for my portfolio. Here are some WIP shots of the Blooper, and exotic whale type creature. I hope to get this creature rendered in real-time soon.

Thanks man. Your words I have encouraged me think I am going to spend a lot more effort on this and add more to it got some great ideas flowing already. I want it to be a portfolio piece so i think it really does need that extra detail added. Cheers!
@Warren - looking awesome bro, really really impressive stuff. (sigh, lara takes me back to my youth!) So, im going to be posting fairly regular updates on the car this weekend, trying to get it into a presentable state within the next few weeks so I can update my portfolio.
Working here and there on a few props to flesh out my portfolio. Here's a violin. There's a few things I'd possibly like to do still before I finish it, (like adding fine tuners into the tailpiece, a bit more character to the strings, adding the bow as an accessory) I'll probably low poly it now though.
