I have this issue that has been driving me insane. I have what is essentially modular tiles for the floor on my level. The tiles are just a single planes (2 tris). The problem is the things keep flickering like crazy. I'm not really sure why they are acting like that. They're gigantic, but still have power of two…
Hey Polycount, Releasing Quadify Ultra today, and wanted to share it here since this community has always been where serious topology conversation happens. https://youtu.be/1_7xRSyeLUc What it is Quadify Ultra is a retopology addon for Blender 5.0 with an ML routing engine. You select a mesh, hit Ctrl+Shift+Q, and it…
Hey guys! I've been trying to learn xGen. I know once you place guides, you can right-click to copy paste guides. However, when I go to paste, the first guide disappears and the second guide never shows up. Then I try to select other guides, and Maya consistently has a fatal error. Here are my specs: Autodesk error: Any…
I use Zremesher. The important thing is to be careful not to have those edge rings that spiral endlessly around the model. So use the curve guides and also use Zremesher command more than once to get it as clean as possible. Then I take it to blender and select edge rings, then delete them. Then I select the corners of the…
- Conceptually in function, you've pretty much just described a flamethrower but with hot water instead of gasoline. Flamethrowers are simple in they're just pumps with pilot lights at the end. Search images for the M1A1 and M2 flamethrower, they're basically a single tube with grips. - Good technical modelling skill can…
Hi, I'm new to these forums altogether but was guided this way for good, honest (and sometimes brutal) criticism for my 3D modelling. I am relearning 3DS max after a year of post-grad freelance illustration so that I can break into the games industry, and have started by loosely following a tutorial for a male character.…
[FONT="]I think the whole Shift + C and Ctrl + C idea does not really bother me all that much. It falls under memory. XSI has a unique default setup of positioning core modeling functions around the hand radially. Alt=S and around the left hand exists all necessary functions. After adaptation and familiarity is…
EDIT: I've done some more experimenting, and by removing all but 1 of the guides, the hair suddenly behaves exactly as expected. So it seems like the guides are interfering with each other, even when the blend amount = 0%. Is there any other way to limit this influence? (I'd like to work with more than just 1 hair guide)…
This piqued my interest so I hacked a macroscript I'd cobbled together a while back for turning sprites into 3d objects (it's a hack squared) It appears to work - it's not fully automated or clever but I actually got some decent results out of it bad things : It starts from a very inefficient mesh (quad per pixel) and…
The grip could use some more work. The front of the grip should be smoother, and both the grip safety and the rear of the grip seem too thick. The base of the magazine also extends a bit farther beyond the grip. I don't care for the color of the grips, nor for the lighter area on them. The screws are also typically inset…
