Hey guys, Im making an item set based on ww2 gear. It will contain 3 items: An officer hat for strasser, a tank commander radio headset for DJ Scully and a British SAS cap for Masterson. I'm working on the officer cap atm. I saw someone else making the same item so I guess I should have made this thread a bit earlier :p…
If you have a PS3 and wait to play something truly unique for $10 you need to try Flower. http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3172687&p=37 The responsiveness of the sixaxis controller is amazing. The game is a simple concept, you guide the wind and move towards flowers making them bloom and collecting another petal. Its…
Hi all these were created by Tim Simpson for http://www.1944d-day.com: Thompson BAR M1918A2 Just some things to note, these weapons were considered new back in 1944. They would only have been used in training and excercises. They were also very well maintained, so the look of the weapons should not look as if they were…
This will be my first piece for my portfolio so it must be something big. The past months i only modelled ww2 stuff and after a period of time you feel like you stuck somewhere. Time to shake it off. Ok, so the idea was to create something new but not this sci fi stuff with fancy lights and a overdose of stupid details.…
I was reading about trench raiding in WWI and was captivated by this brutal knife-brass-knuckle-thingy. so i decided to make a model of it and texture it the knife is roughly 1200 tris and has a 2k pbr texture. i made it with the idea that it might end up being in a game like fallout 4 or battlefield 1 or something. I…
Is it being affected by the light source? Check to see if the material or whatever the hell CE3 uses is accepting light source info. Also for a quick test, go ahead and download the trial for Marmoset Toolbag. http://www.8monkeylabs.com/toolbag Its about 200mb and will allow you to check out your mesh + textures in a…
i like ur animations, but I think u have a lack of bipedal anims. plus, you should def focus on getting really good at one thing. if u want to focus on games, make a few amazing walk cycles (bipedal, since most games have humans in them). If you prefer film or cinematics, then do 11sec of acting.…

@Waz When you import an FBX from Maya, most likely, your object no longer has smoothing groups, it's using Explicit Normals. Instead of detaching try cloning and deleting the unwanted parts of the model. At some point, you might do an operation that breaks all the explicit normals. If this happens just add an edit poly mod…
http://www.3dmotive.com/training/zbrush/texturing-and-baking-with-zbrush-xnormal-and-ndo/?follow=true This should be enough for baking with xnormal. I wouldn't use decimation master to create the low poly though (unless you want to have a very high poly low poly model). You can either use retopology in zbrush or use…
