Hey guys, even when I check smoothing groups in the fbx dialog window 3dsmax still refuses to export the smoothing groups. Anyone run into this? I exports na obj instead and it worked fine

I find that split by smoothing group slows to max to a crawl when I try to split something with a larger number (greater than 10 or 11) of smoothing groups. Try switching between smoothed brush and no smoothed brush you will undoubtedly see a difference. But the question remains how to get the tablet to cursor to move as smooth as the mouse.
Yeah it can be a problem if it's part of a larger object and you can't smooth before bending. From top to bottom, lowpoly deformed, deformed then smoothed, smoothed then deformed.
