Yes, I thought something like that could have been used. I just wonder, if it was used on walls it would be like an ancient form of decal? Would there problems like artifacts from clipping? -

I'm currently working on an asset pack for a Persian Steppe environment and I've been making a lot of ornamented stuff and A LOTT of stencils, decals, brushes etc. I don't know if it fits EXACTLY in handpainted (technically it is but not fully) but here it is anyway: -
