@ Bartalon I was really hoping I could do this without having to learn a scripting language. But I agree, that would help. @Throttlekitty I know to delete history but the panel UI thing is new, I'll give it a try.
Thanks guys. N4UJ, I can't script, animate or VFX, so it is probaby going to stay a static prop. Yep! I have to work on the presentation, it is now a simple set-up, but I'm going to improve it on the final shots.
Use the Working Pivot mode! Also, the Sub-obj Pivot script from FunkyBunnies helps a lot :) http://www.funkybunnies3d.com/tools.php I'd recommend you assigning a keyboard key for "Affect Pivot Only Mode Toggle" too.
But then aggain it will calculate quite a while. I should make a little clearer that this is not only abbout grass, moeover what the thread title says "evenly scattering". Know about any scripts that like, take a input for the density ot such?
Without scripting a bit it will be hard I think. A simple way would be to teleport the player to the last remembered door used when loading the map. I don't know if you can create this memory variable with only kismet.
That's amazingly simple! Brilliant! The pivot thing was an addition. I'm still learning at max script so far I think I can get things to work but not necessarily in the fastest or most efficient way. Thanks for the help guys :)
Yeah, well our programmer said he didn't have time to build a game engine, so we'll go with somehing that's already up and running and just add scripts and modify what's already there to our liking. -Phil-
also since it's one md5mesh instead of 3 friggin md3s with vertex animation i may be able to crank out more models for it (also even better because Blender has a good md5 import/export script)
When we wanted to texture a track in a futuristic racer, we got some scripts written that converts and unwraps bevelled curves, so you don't have to convert the mesh before exporting and you have good unwrapping.
Poor terminology on my part. Cut scenes should read 'scripted events'. Either way, clearly the scene with the Gman and Alyx is some kind of non or partially interactive storytelling sequence, meant to be viewed more than 'played'.
