For puddles I'd recommend doing it via a blend in the material. Ideally you want to use the (inverted) height information of your floor so it starts filling into crevices first before it covers large surface areas. If you are thinking of populating a larger level using decals.. all the puddles will be the same shape or…
I like the general idea here, but as you said it's still looking a tad boring atm. I like the light function it's a nice touch. I also like the spec you got going on those electrical box pipes, if you could find a way to mate them to the floor a bit better they would rock even more, maybe a shadow or inset decal. Just to…
Breakdown the repeating structures like those arches into a modular mesh. Use a tiling stucco texture for the building. Use material blending to create the grime and dirt on the stucco. Unique meshes for the windows, railing, electrical box(es), awnings. Try to atlas as many textures as you can. Then do modular pipes.…
Sorry for the extreme delay and lack of response. I have been busy changing workplace, career path and my work partner (khreator) has also been busy in similar circumstances. @DevilBlackDeath I looked into the files when they were reachable, I can't remember the actual files but I remember I was going to respond that I…
Thanks for the comments rascals! I'll mess around with the color correction more and see what happens. @Ged, I've been thinking of doing some more decals for the ground to get a bit more variation but there's so much foliage that I didn't think it'd be that noticeable. I'll work on the blending a bit more so that the grass…
You can make this way better by offsetting your controls. Set all your controls to looping (infinity) curves. Your chest moves first in a breath. So, let's use your chest control as the baseline. Start offsetting your controls by 2 frames for each control, moving outwards from the chest. So, if you have a neck control and…
Kick ass! I think you just have a lot of fun shapes going on in here. I'm a big fan of the video. Some great movement in there, and the music really helps set a mood. Very impressive. Few crits for ya: I don't immediately get a good sense of scale. I think the bridge with the railing helps, but particularly in a few shots…
Hello everyone! I wanted to share this with the Community. It's a collection of blueprints I created that are designed to make level design, blockout, and updating as quick as possible. There are 9 different blueprints that can be used for a broad variety of things, anywhere from deforming mesh, to duplicating assets…
Hi people! So, I was trained at a university and majored in Game Development, with an emphasis on 3D Modeling. At that university, they told us things about keeping our polycount small because it can make the game run slowly. We also packed lots of things into one texture, as well. They didn't really go into the specifics…
