Disclaimer - I'm a total noob. I tried my hand at unwrapping a silo sorta shape made with an extruded quadsphere. Tried 2-3 different ways...none are really working. What am I doing wrong? I basically made seams, selected the area up to the seams, pelted then relaxed. See images below: Try 2:
Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before... I just upgraded to Max 2011 at work. Does anyone know how to disable the new option box associated with beveling/extruding ect? Can't stand it, it is chuggy as all hell. I would love to go back to the one that has been working fine forever...
Cool project! I think overall the ruin could use a bit more overgrowth and weathering, showing it's getting claimed by nature. Currently the stones are a bit uniformly gray. Also some assets could use some more complexity. When using primarily tiling textures and trim sheets, extruding some geometry or putting in some…
Just bake it for lod02 with flat cylinder on the top and split sides/hard edges or just paint some gradient stripes manually , then extrude the profile for Lod01 and project vertex normals to be in same direction. 0r bake bevel (rounded edges) shader and mix it with current result if you want to keep that front looking…
Man, 300 tris isn't enough for the extruded metal plates. Oh well, flatness with shaders doesn't look too flat from far away luckily. LOD 0 is done and still refining the textures a bit, I want to add some sort of decal on the rocket but have no clue what to paint on... Suggestions?
Also as a result of keeping the serif detail the edgeflow vertically for the right side of the "K" gets pretty bad when extruding and insetting a few times. My "A" handled things fine but I'm guessing due to the less detailed serifs? I cleared all the smoothing groups and then did an Auto-Smooth. Pertty gross compared to…
you still need to turbo or mesh smooth your tires and rims, still very blocky. and as for the windows, you dont necessary need them to be attached to the body of the bus, it would actually be easier to keep as is and have them be floating geo. extrude the body of the bus inward where the windows will be and set the windows…
Probably. I didn't really like that part tbh. I think I'm gonna remove that rectangle and add a more extruded round shape. Also, seeing this again, I've to make the buttons slightly bigger, as well as that shapes that holds the part where you can communicate (dont know the correct name :S).
Hey metalliandy, any ETA on the clipboard copy paste support and the 1 pixel bevel fix? I'd like to start using Knald exclusively at work, but I still have to use other apps when extruding 1 pixel patterns, and without clipboard it's time consuming to quickly generate layers for a normal map.
That weapon is looking real nice Bronto! maybe add some more height on the extrudes at the top blade so it reads a bit better.. I'm only not really feeling the armor though, it's not really giving me that wizard kinda feel. Keep up the good work though looking forward seeing that weapon finished!
