Hey guys, maybe somebody can help me. I'm playing with UDK Cascade and did some FX. They show up in the cascade window, where i can work on them and move like I want. But as I throw them into the level, they are not there not in Game mode not if I play it. I've also rebuilt lightning. Thank you!
Hi, I'm having a lot of trouble building my lighting in UDK. I have my mesh in my scene, and a point light. I checked 'build bsp', 'build static meshes', and 'generate building LOD textures'. When I build, I get an error message that tells me 'paths need to be rebuilt'. Heelp.
Nope. Not even a little. I actually played Hardware in it's early forms. When they teamed up with Gearbox which allowed them to use the homeworld ip, they changed the entire game. Rebuilt it from the ground up. Or so it seems. 1 things for sure, this is NOT what I played before. Not even close.
I just did an experiment where I deleted the polygons giving me trouble in Max, and rebuilt the mesh, and it worked just fine in mudbox. Not a great solution, because now I have to redo my UVs. Hopefully it won't happen again, but would still like to find a better solution.
Bit of an update. Rebuilt the shader (It wasn't working with multiple lights, and the ambient was causing a wash-out). Shader for the reflective wind is a placeholder. Still not quite happy with the texture on the door hood, the bulkhead, or the algae on the tyres. First image - Single spotlight flat white Wirefame Night…
New topology for game res model. Mostly I've copied zbrushes "dog" model as it looks like great topology for running animations and facial expressions. I simplified some areas and rebuilt others entirely, like the crotch area and the ears. Now this can serve as a base model for cats and similar critters.
Hi all, I am looking to get some feedback on my arch viz scene. I think its still lacking something. Do not know if its the lighting or lack of shadowing, or maybe the geometry needs to be rebuilt? Its just kind of falling flat for me. Any suggestions to make it look more dynamic or interesting would be appreciated. Thanks…
There is a "Create IK handle" option inside the Joint tool options. It did however break when they rebuilt the animation system. They are however working on getting it fixed. Weirdly, I rebuilt the entire low poly, testing every so often still rendering as a TGA but doing 1k test renders, and I didn't get this. Last night I rendered the full thing as a PNG and got a strangely faded version but with no errors. So I re-rendered as a TGA and now the errors are back.
@beefaroni oh i can see that now, great eye man! I will have to play with the skybox/lighting to fix that issue Im hoping the atmosphere will appear to darkin up after i add texture to the bg buildings.....and I am sure the lighting will be totally rebuilt by then....The shadows do feel pretty dark in these images...
